Thanks for stopping by. I am a self-representing artist and illustrator–something I am thrilled to be. I am self-trained because I opted for a ‘functional’ biology degree. I don’t regret it at all, but after several happy years as a seventh grade science teacher (I fear nothing now) and countless (well, almost 6) years as a happy mom, I am now a very happy artist.
We live a simple life on a small family farm, so much of my inspiration comes from my hilarious daughter and funny farm animals. A simple life works for us–the cows, chickens, and dogs seem to like it too.
I love to read and in the ten free minutes I have a week, I try to do that. This means that I occasionally don’t do the dishes or fold the laundry, but I have my priorities. Luckily my husband (now an expert dishwasher) understands, so I doodle, paint, and draw almost every day.
I usually work in watercolor, ink, and colored pencil, but I love Photoshop and acrylics are fun too. Whatever medium I choose, I find that I can’t possibly get all my ideas onto the paper/canvas/screen fast enough. I truly love my life and art. I hope it shows.
